Stuttering and/ or cluttering: stuttering is characterized by an abnormally high frequency and/ or duration of stoppages In the forward flow of speech (Andrews & Harris, 1964, Wingate, 1964; Yaruss, 1998). The three factor hypothesis (Wall & Myers, 1995) claim that a combination of psycholinguistic, psychosocial and physiological factors are involved in the phenomenon of stuttering. The onset of stuttering is typically between the ages of 2 and 5.
